LEERDAM HOUSE

Tone’s own family home, Leerdam House is an ongoing study in how a home can grow and change with the people who live there. Over five years, new spaces, intimate courtyards, a signature oval pool and expansive landscaping have created a deeply personal connection between house and garden.

A HOME THAT HAS GROWN WITH THE FAMILY

As Tone’s own family home, Leerdam House has never really stood still. Over the past five years it has been gradually renovated, extended and reimagined, with each new intervention responding to the way the family lives and to the relationship between the house, its courtyards and the garden beyond.

One of the most significant additions was an entirely new private wing, created to house the master bedroom, en suite and home office. Rather than simply extending the existing footprint, the new spaces were designed around their own intimate courtyard, adding another layer of indoor-outdoor living to a home already defined by a series of garden rooms and courtyards.

Outside, the signature oval tiled swimming pool brings a softer, more sculptural form into the landscape, surrounded by expansive planting that has been allowed to mature and settle over time. The different courtyards each have their own character, but planting, materials and views between spaces create a natural sense of connection throughout.

Perhaps that is what defines Leerdam House most. It isn't the result of one grand renovation, but of years of thoughtful additions and changes. It feels personal, collected and slightly imperfect in the best possible way — a family home that continues to grow and evolve with the people who live there.
