Suburban + Contemporary
Tone furnished the entire house so that it was ready to move into. From crockery and cutlery to all the electronics and paintings on the walls.
A previous Johannesburg client contacted Tone when she decided to make a move to Cape Town. She asked Tone to find her a home in the Southern Suburbs and create the family home and garden. Having worked with this client previously on her game lodge and home in Johannesburg, Tone knew exactly what she would love. Tone set about sourcing the new home, and found the perfect contemporary 500m2 double story cluster in Fernwood Newlands.
The furniture for the home was chosen to match the care-free, relaxed, open-plan atmosphere of the space. Items were sourced from Cecile and Boyd, Block and Chisel, Weylandts, Pezula, Amatuli and Liebermann Pottery.
For the patio, Tone furnished the area to allow for informal seating and dining. He chose weatherproof furniture and finished off the patio with large jade green ceramics pots, planted with huge Ficus Starlight, a variegated ficus tree.
For the garden, Tone formalised the original standard developer-installed garden, by adding box hedging to green the walls, and trees to lift the eye. He also utilised some of his client’s favourite plants, such as Roses and Lavender.
